ORLANDO, FL – SPOT X Hotel guests can now add their room key to Apple Wallet on their iPhone and Apple Watch. With a simple tap of their device on an EntryReady lock, guests can access their hotel room, as well as other key card-protected common areas throughout the property, such as the gym, business center, and more — no need to open an app or handle a traditional physical room key.

Adding a room key to Apple Wallet is easy. After completing a reservation, guests can add their room key to Apple Wallet through the EntryReady app or via a web link sent by SMS message. Once a guest has fully checked in and the room is ready, their room key in Apple Wallet will be activated, display the room number, and can be used immediately.
With Express Mode, guests can simply tap their iPhone on an EntryReady lock to access their room or common areas — no need to even unlock or wake their device. If an iPhone needs to be charged, guests can still use it to unlock their room or common areas with automatic Power Reserve.
If a SPOT X Hotel Orlando guest needs to change rooms, extend a stay, or request late checkout, the hotel can update the guest’s room key in Apple Wallet remotely, eliminating the need to visit the front desk. When it’s time to check out, the guests room key in Apple Wallet will then be remotely deactivated.
Room key in Apple Wallet is stored on the guest’s device and takes full advantage of the privacy and security features built into iPhone and Apple Watch. The guest data is never shared with Apple or stored on Apple servers. If an iPhone or Apple Watch is misplaced, the guest can promptly use the Find My app to lock the device and help locate it.
This new feature is supported by EntryReady door locks and credential systems, seamlessly integrated with the hotel’s PMS platform. This integration simplifies operations for hotel staff and elevates the guest experience, from booking through check-out.
